Infantry
    M1832 Enlisted Dress Tailcoats for Artillery or Infantry: are identicle except for branch colors. Artillery has red trim with yellow lace, Infantry white trim with white lace. Both coats feature our 20 oz Dark Blue Wool as standard. The 2-3/4" high collar has two lace loops with buttons and is piped with branch color. Rank is determined by the amount of lace loops on the sleeve slashes. Two loops for Pvts and Cpls, 3 for Sgts and 4 for staff sgts. Bullion size on the Cloth Epaulets also indicates rank.

    Other features include branch colored skirt lining and turnbacks with skirt slash with 3 lace loops and buttons. Correct buttons are supplied ready for you to sew on. Machine stitched buttonholes. Cloth Epaulets shown are purchased separately. Branch colored cotton front lining, black cotton in back with natural cotton sleeve lining. Rank chevrons were not worn on Artillery or Infantry Dress Coats until 1851. Five year service chevrons were. From 1832-1851, Musician's dresscoats were red wool.

U.S. M1832 Foot Trousers, Winter

    M1832 Foot Trousers: The trousers used by enlisted US Army Foot soldiers during the Mexican War were the model adopted in 1833. Trousers for enlisted soldiers are Sky Blue wool with drop front design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on in the double front button pattern for use with our #1907 suspenders.

    Trousers are left unhemmed so that you can finish them the length you want. Raw inseam length is 34 inches.

    The Winter Uniform (Coat and Trousers) was authorized for use from October 1st through April 30th.

    M1832 Mounted Trousers for Dragoons: Trousers for Dragoons are Sky Blue wool with an extra layer of wool on the inseam for riding. Drop front design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on in the double front button pattern for use with our #1907 spenders.

    Privates and Corporals were to have one 3/4" yellow wool stripe. Sergeants were to have two 3/4" yellow stripes with a 1/4" window between them. These trousers were used by Dragoons until 1851.

    Trousers are left unhemmed so that you can finish them the length you want. Raw inseam length is 34 inches.
