U.S. M1833 Enlisted Summer Shell Jacket, Mexican War
    M1833 Summer Issue White Cotton Jacket Unlined: Enlisted Dragoons wore this jacket with 12 small buttons on the front. Artillery and Infantry enlisted men wore this same jacket with only 9 small buttons on the front (not shown).

    The Summer Uniform (Coat and Trousers) was authorized for use from May 1st through September 30th.

    All branches had curved shoulder tabs and two front waistline pockets. Collar is 2-1/2" high. The entire front of the collar closes fully. Two waistline pockets and Shoulder Straps are faithfully copied to insure accuracy. Twelve small buttons on the front, one on the functional cuffs, and a single button on the shoulder straps. Brass Eagle buttons are supplied, but left loose for you to sew on. In 1846 Mounted Rifles were issued this jacket as well.

    M1832 Summer Foot Trousers: These trousers (pants) were used by the US Army from 1833 through the Mexican War. Summer Trousers for enlisted Foot soldiers are White cotton duck with drop front pants design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on. Button pattern is with double front buttons for our #1907 suspenders.

    The Summer Uniform (Coat and Trousers) was authorized for use from May 1st through September 30th.

    Stripes were not authorized for use on White Cotton Trousers for any rank.

    Trousers are left unhemmed so that you can finish them the length you want. Raw inseam length is 34 inches.

    These trousers are also good for civilian images.

Summer Trousers for enlisted Mounted soldiers are White cotton duck drop front pants with an extra layer on the inseam for riding. They are design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on. Button pattern is with double front buttons for our #1907 suspenders.
