Youth / Child's Rope Tension Drum, by Cooperman's Fife and Drum: This is a downsized musical instrument rather than a toy. Dimensioned for a child's use, the drum is 10" in diameter and stands about 12" tall. The solid hardwood shell and hoops are cut and steam-bent at Cooperman's Vermont sawmill, much as they would have been in early America. The sounding surfaces, known as "heads", are made of natural vellum (animal-hide) and the distinctive sound of the snare drum is provided by natural gut snares stretched across the bottom of the drum. Child's Toy Drums: These are Toy Drums and NOT musical instruments, like the Cooperman Youth Drum. Silver Rope Tension: Noble and Cooley Americana toy field drum is a replica (not necessarily a reproduction) "cord and ear" rope tension drum. Size approximately 9" diameter and 10" high. Comes with sling and drum sticks. Blue Rope Tension: Noble and Cooley Americana toy field drum is a replica (not necessarily a reproduction) "cord and ear" rope tension drum. Size approximately 10" diameter and 10 1/2" high. Comes with sling and drum sticks. Star and Shield: Noble and Cooley toy field drum using spring clamps for tension. It is based on the original lithographs from the 1880s. Metal shell embossed on the original machine with the same colors. This a much later period of tension than the rope tension drums. Size approximately 9" diameter and 7 5/8" high. Comes with sling and drum sticks. Collectible Patriotic: Noble and Cooley toy field drum using spring clamps for tension. It is based on the original lithographs from the 1906 with Uncle Sam surrounded by Eagles and Stars and Stripes. Metal shell embossed on the original machine with the same colors. This a much later period of tension than the rope tension drums. Size approximately 8 1/2" diameter and 7 3/4" high. Comes with sling and drum sticks.
Youth / Child's / Toy Drumsticks: Our toy drum sticks are a scale version of the snare drum sticks in use today by rudimental drummers who carry on these fife and drum traditions. These solid wood drum sticks are about 10 3/8" to 10 12" long and each pair is individually packaged in a poly bag with a history card. Complete Music for Fife and Drum by Walter D. Diatonic Single Reed Harmonica Models These models include some of the most popular harmonicas and are used in Blues, Folk, Country, and Rock. All feature reeds which are tuned to produce the natural notes of the scale without any additional sharps and flats. Most are ten hole instruments with the four middle holes comprising a complete eight note octave, and the holes an either side extending the scale and permitting chord playing. These models are capable of producing the expressive effects of bending and overblowing. Here is an audio sample by Hohner's Rick Epping 1896 Marine Band: Internationally recognized by players for its simple beauty and resonant tone, this is the most famous harmonica in the world. The pearwood body, solid brass plates and patented cover design produce a musical quality that, when first heard in 1896, brought the Marine Band immediate popularity. This is the model that helped to create the sound of the Blues, Country, Folk and Rock. Specifications: 10 single holes, 20 reeds, length: 4". Comes in the following keys: Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, F# & G.
590 Big River Harp: A quality, mid-priced model made in Germany. The Big River Harp is part of Hohner's automated Modular System (MS)
production and features: Improved reed design for long life and bright tone; Airtight body for increased volume; Contoured covers that project sound and are
comfortable to hold; Attractive case. Specifications: 10 single holes, 20 reeds, length: 4 1/8". Comes in the following keys: Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb,
E, F, F# & G. Tremolo Harmonicas Tremolo harmonicas are Diatonic models constructed with double holes, each containing two reeds tuned to the same note, one tuned slightly higher than the other. Since both reeds are either blow or draw, when played both will sound together—the slight difference in tuning creating a beautiful vibrating or tremolo effect. Tremolo models are popular for ballads and gospel music, as well as for Latin, Asian, European and other international folk styles.
Here is an audio sample by Hohner's Rick Epping. Echo 64, Echo 80 and Echo 96: The Echo Double Sided series has been a favorite since the turn of the century. Beautifully stamped covers enclose the reeds of this tremolo model and provide a common tone chamber. This reinforces sympathetic resonance between the sides and lends a deep, haunting quality to the music. Specifications: Key combinations available: A/D and C/G.

Miscellaneous Un-Verified InstrumentsThe instruments in this group have not been verified for authenticity for any historic periods. At this time I can not list how early they could be used or how they could be modified for use. As soon as I get the time I will verify the usable period and any necessary modifications that should/could be done. As far as the Violins, I know the only difference between them and my mothers early 1900s violin is the chin rest. More information coming soon.
