These are reproduction 19th Century (1800s) items and Containers. They are real functional products, although modern products may be more appropriate, in most cases. Tooth Powder in Tin Container: This is real tooth powder and could be used as an everyday tooth powder, if you like tooth powder instead of toothpaste. It is like what was used in the 1800s and so it does not contain all the "improvements" found in modern toothpaste. Grandma's Lye Soap: This is a serious soap in a hand soap size (6.4 ounces). We use it in the kitchen for washing our hands. I also use it any time I am working in the woods and could have been exposed to poison oak. It is recommended for Dry Skin and may ease the compfort of Psoriasis, Eczema, Acne, Winter dry, itchy skin, Poison Ivy-Oak, Any Rash/Hives, Insect Bites. It contains now perfume so it doesn't sttract insects like modern soaps do. It also hides human scent for hunters. It is also listed as "Best for dirty-mouthed kids", but this is a historical reference and not intended as a modern use. Civil War Petrolatum Tin: Tin Only, add your own gel to complete the impression. |

Shaving Soap: We have a variety of shaving soaps available, including one that comes in a tin container. Shaving Brushes: These come with either Boar or Badger Bristles and a variety of handle materials, Styles and colors. Straight Razors: These come with different types of metal blades and different handle materials. The better the blade material, the better it will hold an edge and the more comfortable the shave will be. The different handle materials are a matter of preference, as they for looks. Some of these razors DO NOT come ready to use and need to be sharpened, while others are already honed and ready for use. Razor Upkeep Items: We carry the strop and strop dressing for daily use and the razor stone for major sharpening. If you are not experienced at sharpening a razor, we recommend that you have a barber sharpen your razor for you; usually on a monthly basis if you use it every day. |

Lion Coffee Bag (Small): This is NOT an authentic package. It is a label made from an old advertisement, glued to a cloth bag and closed with string tie. But, it does contain real coffee beans. Package is about 2 1/4" x 3" x 1 1/4" and weighs about 1 1/4 ounce. The empty bag will not register on my postal scale, so almost all of the weight is in the coffee. Coffee beans used will vary. Lion Coffee Bag (Large): This is also NOT an authentic package. This is the same label as on the small Lion bag, only larger, made from an old advertisement, glued to a cloth bag and closed with string tie. This bag also contains real coffee beans. Package is about 3 1/3" x 5" x 2 1/4" and weighs about 3 1/2 ounce. The empty bag weighs 2/10 of an ounce on my postal scale. Coffee beans used will vary. |
