Hat: We are offering 4 types of hat / cap for the fatigue uniform: the M1861 Kepi, the M1858 Forage Cap, the M1861 Forage Cap and the Slouch Hat. Kepi and Forage Cap come with Branch Insignia, while the Slouch Hat comes with Branch Insignia and Hat cord. Trim is supplied loose, NOT attached. Coat: Sack Coat. For fatigue duty, Civil War Union soldiers were issued a fatigue blouse, referred to as a Sack Coat or Sackcoat. Most sack coats were unlined, however regulations do call for a "Recruit Coat" to be lined. Judging from available records, the lined sack coat appears to have been quite rare. The Sack Coat has a roll type collar and left inside breast pocket. Standard length is about halfway between the hip and knee. It has four (4) medium sized Union Eagle buttons and split cuffs. Choose either Lined or Unlined. Shirt: Unbleached Muslin shirt features the drop shoulder pattern, with gathered sleeves and cuff and the placket front.
