Not everything we have available is on our web site. We are adding items as time allows. In the future we will be adding more outfits. Some will be for periods that already have dresses up on the web site and others will be for periods not currently on the our site. We currently have done dresses not shown on our web site, some of these have been done from original pictures and/or drawings. We also have patterns for many more dresses and periods than we show.

This REPRODUCTION Clothing item is Made in the USA. This a quality reproduction item made as close as is modernly possible. Sewing is done by machine to keep costs down (except where hand sewing is required) and most do not show externally. Some items offer hand sewing on exposed stitching (such as buttonholes) for an additional cost.

Pictures of the item on this page are pictures of the item we sold. All pictures of items we sell are Copyrighted, either by us or our supplier of the item.

This is not a costume that is made using modern construction or components that did not exist during the time of its original usage (IE: zippers, etc.). Beware of fakes, especially ones using images stolen from this site (Copyright Infringement).

The #031 pattern was pulled, with permission, from the extant garment in the Wayne County Historical Museum in Richmond, Indiana. The gown has no history. It is a day dress. The threads are hand spun and the fabric is hand woven of linen warp and cotton weft. The background is white, interrupted every 7/8 inch by alternate threads of madder red and indigo blue. Unlike today's fabric, the stripes are at a right angle to the salvage.

Illustrated instructions for sewing the garment by hand are included, however, this is an easy garment to sew by machine.

The bodice conservatively cut yet it has the fashionable small back of the period. As a result of the small back the sleeves form the shoulders, creating a very comfortable fit. Drawstrings fasten the center front closed at the neck and waist. The bodice is lined. The front lining is loose from the armholes to center front. It crosses over and fastens at center front with straight pins. This front lining does not support the bust. It is to help hold the front closed. A corset is worn with this garment. Past Patterns' will be marketing a 1790's-1809 boned stay in 2003.

The pleated skirt is fullest in the back and flat in the front. A 1-1/2 inch crescent-shaped tuck at center front raises the skirt over the toes.

This pattern is sized 8-14, 16-20, 22-26 in B, C and D cups.

Starting price is for cotton material and style shown, other materials, modifications, additional trim or other changes will affect the price. Rush orders MAY be available for an additional price, call us about this. A rush order reduces the manufacturing time but DOES NOT include faster shipping, for faster shipping use the shipping option on the "View Cart" page.

Our reproduction items are more than just looks-like, they are authentic replicas made as closely as possible to the original item. They are carefully manufactured using materials that match as closely as possible to the original items. We use patterns made from original items; patterns that are modified to be historical not only in look, but construction; or patterns that we have made from drawings, pictures or paintings. Many of our items have been purchased by museums (well known and not so well known) for display and/or for use by docents and historical interpreters.

Clothing and Uniforms Most of our men's replica clothing and uniforms are made for us by the Quartermaster Shop, although some items are manufactured by us or elsewhere. The ladies and childrens attire is mostly made by us. Almost any style of clothing that was worn in the United States during the 19th Century (1800s) (starting from the 1820's on, including Victorian, Edwardian, American Civil War, Indian Wars. Old West and Spanish American War (Span-Am)) is available.

Other Items (accessories, accouterments, camp equipment, leathergoods, tents, tinware, etc.) are mostly purchased from other makers, although some are made by us. In many cases we have mutiple suppliers of items, to assure the we can always have them available.

We currently offer Clothing and Military Uniforms from the 1830s through 1900; which includes the Federal Era, Jacksonian Era, Dickens, the (Victorian Era (Mexican War, Antebellum, American Civil War (Confederate / CS / CSA & Union / US / USA), Indian Wars, Old West and Spanish American War (Span-Am War)).

Pants, Wool Shirts & Vests) and All Civilian Clothing (Coats, Pants & Vests) as well as Many Large and Tall size
items take 9 to 11 weeks for delivery; UNLESS the item has a delivery time listed, then that is the delivery time.
Most other clothing (WHITE Cotton Shirts, Cravats, Suspenders, Felt Hats, etc.) take 2 - 4 weeks for delivery.
