President Abraham (Abe) Lincoln Frock Suit & HatPresident Lincoln Outfit: Although President Lincoln had more than one set of clothes, we offer here the outfit he was most frequently photographed in- the double breasted frockcoat, shawl vest and trousers in black wool. President Lincoln is said to have stated he would wear black until the war was over to mourn for the country. Frockcoat: is double breasted with peak lapels and has five buttonholes per side that start near the top of the peak and go to the waistline. A nice quality black wool flannel is standard, with black cotton body lining. A deluxe grade of 16 ounce fine quality wool is available as an up-grade. A black polished cotton lining is used with the deluxe wool option. Buttons are sewn on for you. Vest: is single breasted with shawl collar with black cotton back and natural cotton lining. Five buttons close the front and are sewn on. If either the deluxe wool option or black ribbed silk option is chosen, black polished cotton is used on the back to match the coat lining. Trousers: are black wool flannel with button fly and side seam pockets. A waistline watch pocket is standard on the right side with a back belt for "fine tuning" the waist size. The deluxe wool is offered as an option in the trousers also. Buttons are sewn on in the double button pattern for our #1907 Suspenders. Made in the USA! Shirt: Civilian gentlemen's shirt is made from a very fine grade of white cotton. This shirt features a distinctive pleated front with square stand and fall collar. The 1850-70 period drop shoulder pattern, with gathered sleeves and placket front, is featured. Four genuine mother of pearl buttons close the front with one button on each cuff. For very formal affairs the collar should be worn in the up position as seen at the top. Made in the USA! Cravat: Our 1850 to 1875 period cravat is a work of art! It is pre-tied (and sewn) to save you the trouble of tying it. Our cravat has a nice buckle in the back, which makes it adjustable for neck sizes 14" thru 19". The most popular color is black, however, the other colors can really add interest to a black or grey outfit. Made in the USA. Suspenders: Civilian (Double button front Suspenders)-Our Suspender straps are made of heavy weight natural colored woven cotton and are adjustable by means of a "piercing prong" type buckle on each front strap. The double front button tabs are featured. The leather pieces are natural colored. The crossed “X” pattern back is the best style to help keep the suspenders from falling off your shoulders. They are available as all colored woven cotton {1907} or with elastic added in the bottom back {7277}.
Hat: This is the Abe Lincoln Stove Pipe Hat. The hat is 7 1/2 inches tall and has a 2 inch brim. Made of wool felt, it is black with a black ribbon around the crown and a bound brim. It is a copy of the Lincoln Hat in the Smithsonian Museum. This hat is also available in other colors and heights, click here.
